[en-us] (Not) Enough Time
Welcome, one and all, to the US English localization of 'Not enough time' in celebration of LocJAM's 10th Anniversary!
"(Not) enough time" is a short pixel-art point & click adventure, in the same series as Uncle Lee strikes again and Once upon a Möbius strip. It can be enjoyed as a standalone game as well. The original creators' improved recipe features 500% more characters than the previous games!
You play as Ines, a 15-year-old girl who's on her way to Lake Tally-ho for a relaxing trip with her uncle. However, things are never that easy where Uncle Lee is involved, and she ends up stranded in time with nothing but a broken reality-fixing device™! How will you get out of this mess?
How to play
- Left-click or right-click to move the character or interact with the highlighted object.
- Dialogue lines can be skipped by pressing the "." (period) key. Skipping with mouse buttons can be enabled through the option menu.
- Fullscreen mode can be enabled through the option menu.
- Press and hold ESC to skip cutscenes.
Why make an English localization of a game that's already in English?
First and foremost, I had so much fun in December 2023's LocJAM that I wanted to join this one as well!
On the more technical side, the original English text is quite good, it's true! However...
- The original game has some British-isms (e.g. "rumour", "specialise") which are not used in US English (my native language).
- I found a few typos that I corrected, hopefully without introducing any new ones!
- I updated some terms (and the corresponding time periods) for younger audiences to understand some concepts more easily. For example, I changed 'hotspot label', because it means something completely different than hover text/mouseover text nowadays! 'Magnetic pickup' got a similar treatment and was reduced to 'magnet' for simplicity.
- To avoid profanity, I changed some of Ines' lines.
- Ines in particular uses more modern slang in her lines.
